Who Am I?

I’m a self-proclaimed smarty pants and Gen Y know it all. I’m a Perth-based up and coming writer, specialising in popular culture, LGB issues, gender, art, media, mental health, general well being and life from a grrrly perspective. This is my online portfolio with a personal slant.

Originally from Sydney, I’ve spent time as an intern monkey at Studio Magazines, Yen Magazine, Pages Digital, YMI magazine and the Illawarra Mercury.

I’m tertiary educated, having studied at Macleay College in Sydney and UNSW. I’m currently completing my communications degree at Curtin University, WA. My favourite colours are black, white and grey, because I think this hides my Sailor Moon addiction (I’ll be your best friend if you keep this a secret).

I’m also a bona-fide peanut butter and chocolate visionary. Is there anything those two can’t do?

What Am I Good For?

You want a curious youngen’. You want a fresh yet strong voice. You want someone who oozes with sex appeal.

I have two out of three.

I’m a writer. I tell stories, trust me. With a number of internships under my belt, and having worked for UNSW’s student publication Blitz, I know the ins and outs of producing editorial copy.  I’ve interviewed the likes of Mia Freedman, Josh Thomas, Maggie Beer, Cloud Control and a professional bush ranger named Bob who delightfully informed me of the unlikelihood of being eaten by a crocodile (thanks, Bob!).

But seriously?

I specialise in sass, sweetness, seriousness and some social commentary. I can also wiggle my ears. I’m not the next Anna Wintour, but I’m super enthusiastic about making some waves.
